City of Celina Water Conservation Measures

Published: June 26, 2024

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable water usage, the City of Celina has recently initiated another water conservation outreach within our community. You may have noticed new water conservation signs installed at various locations around the City. These signs provide important guidelines designed to help preserve our vital water resources.

One of the key measures being implemented is a strict watering schedule to ensure efficient water usage. The guidelines are as follows:

    • Lawn watering is permitted a maximum of twice a week.
    • Watering is prohibited between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to reduce evaporation.

Specific watering days are designated based on property types and address numbers:

Residential properties:

    • Addresses ending in even numbers: Sundays and Thursdays
    • Addresses ending in odd numbers: Saturdays and Wednesdays

Commercial, industrial, and institutional properties:

    • Tuesdays and Fridays

With rising temperatures, our collective water usage increases, making mindful consumption crucial. Overwatering not only depletes our water resources but also places stress on the City’s infrastructure and environment. These conservation guidelines are in place to promote efficient water use and ensure our community remains resilient and sustainable during the hot summer months.

We urge all residents to take these guidelines seriously and ensure their irrigation systems are set to the appropriate watering days and times. Responsible water use today will help prevent the need for stricter measures in the future, safeguarding our water supply for the long term.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to conserving our precious water resources.
